Compete with Self
We are constantly in competition with someone or something.
Directionally, competition provides a benchmark to measure against & excel.
Taken to extreme, it’s a war, where anything is ‘done‘ as long as it gets us ahead; where opponent becomes enemy and ‘eliminating‘ seems synonymous with ‘defeating‘.
‘Competing with self‘ provides a fresher perspective, not only to excel, but also provides an absolute and never ending benchmark.
Philosophically speaking each of us is unique and logically not in competition with anyone.
This realization gives us healthy outlook to the world with greater respect and no enemy.
