Exploring French & Raven’s Forms of Power and further distinguishing those into personal and positional power groups enhances your coaching tool box in able to better serve your clients. Since 1959 these concepts have applied to leaders and individuals across many spectrums in life. Referent power can lead to enthusiastic and unquestioning trust, compliance, loyalty, and commitment from subordinates.

As coaches, improving your knowledge of how people influence, and are influenced is key to improving your client outcomes. In alignment with the ICF core competencies, we examine various topics that enable us to work within repeatable frameworks that allow clients to build referential power as a key to authentic leadership success.

In this 6 hour Core Competency course, we work with the following core competencies: Establishing Trust and Intimacy, Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Powerful Questioning, Direct Communication, Creating Awareness, Designing Actions, Planning & Goal Setting, Managing Progress and Accountability. Each module builds upon the previous and requires each person to personally ask and answer questions for active learning and application of the model with their clients and themselves.
