How Leaders with a Mindfulness Practice Relate with Employees During A Pandemic: A Research Study and Results

Studies on mindfulness and leadership have been growing over the years. In particular, researchers have studied how the practice of mindfulness can enhance certain characteristics or traits to enable leaders to manage organizations better. This paper aims to discover more about the phenomenon of mindfulness and how it can help leaders cope with the challenges in managing teams. It examines leaders with a mindfulness practice and how they related to employees during a period of heightened uncertainty of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. During this difficult period, leaders needed to shift into new ways of managing to continue to drive positive business results. Did their mindfulness practice help them exercise leadership in the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic? This paper will try to discover how a mindfulness practice enhances leadership and how it can increase the resilience of leaders and cultivate leadership for a thriving future.
