Neuroscience Informed Coaching

Metacognition is our ability to think about our thinking; coaching is a process predicated on leveraging metacognition to generate new awareness, develop thoughtfulness, spark insight, and create behaviour change. Ever stop to think about why, exactly, this process works?
This session is not going to teach you the mystical answer that only neuroscience can provide; it does not exist. It will, however, discuss relevant research, principles, and considerations from the field of cognitive and social neuroscience that are relevant to people with brains, and also coaches. In two hours we will cover a few core principles of neuroscience, examine cognitive processes for which coaching serves as an intervention, and discuss considerations that are equally relevant for coaches and their clients (multitaskers, beware!).
