Mentor Coaching & Coaching Supervision: Understanding ICF’s New Qualifications
On April 13, 2026, the International Coaching Federation introduced two new advanced accreditations: the Mentor Coach Qualification (MCQ) and the Coaching Supervision Qualification (CSQ). These mark a significant step in the professionalisation and maturation of the coaching field.
This session offers a clear and practical introduction to both qualifications, exploring their purpose, structure, and the role they play in supporting coach development beyond initial certification. Participants will gain insight into how mentor coaching and coaching supervision differ, how they complement each other, and what this means for coaches seeking to deepen their practice and expand their professional contribution.
Key Learning Outcomes
• Understand the intent and structure of the Mentor Coach Qualification (MCQ) and Coaching Supervision Qualification (CSQ)
• Distinguish clearly between mentor coaching and coaching supervision
