How can we transform Culture from an inert acceptance of ‘the way we do things around here’ to a source of competitive advantage?
By recognizing that Culture is first and foremost about people – how they think, act, collaborate, integrate, and solve problems. When we pare it down to bare-bones, “culture is the patterns of behavior that are encouraged, discouraged or tolerated by people and systems over time”. The culture that leaders create in their teams or units is critical to how people feel and perform. When organizations and leaders focus on developing and nurturing people, they, in effect, build a robust culture fertile for Growth and Innovation. Weaving Coaching into the warp and weft of the organization can be a vital input in building a thriving culture – because Coaching can transform culture by transforming leadership behaviors at various levels of the organization. The simple truth is that when people feel invested, they are more likely to go above and beyond.
