John Bennett, Ph.D., PCC, BCC

John Bennett, Ph.D., PCC, BCC, is a business and behavioral science professor at the McColl School of Business, Queens University of Charlotte. He holds the Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Chair of Leadership. John is the founding director of the university's graduate programs in coaching. In 1997, he founded Lawton Associates, an executive coaching and consulting firm focused on helping individuals, teams, and organizations prepare for, excel through, and improve from change.

John co-authored Coaching for Change (2014) and The Manager's Guide to Coaching for Change (2024).

Robin Funsten holds a degree in Experiential Education and Psychology. Marcus Kirkman, Sr.

Marcus R. Kirkman, Sr. is a native of North Carolina. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy where he Honorably served our country for 22 years and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer-Operations Specialist.

He is a Certified Professional Health and Wellness Coach through WELLCOACHES, InterSpiritual Companion and Counselor, Certified Ayurveda Wellness Counselor, and Certified Mindfulness Facilitator/Trainer.
Marcus is the Business Inclusion Manager for the City of Asheville. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC is where he calls home.

Western Carolinas Coaches Presents: The Authentic Coach – Leading with Presence and Purpose

The Western Carolina Coaches subchapter of ICF Charlotte is excited to host a full day of coaching and leadership skill training titled “The Authentic Coach–Leading with Presence and Purpose.” The event is Friday, November 1st, 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. at the Asheville Buncombe Community College Campus.
