Essential Psychodynamics for Coaches
Essential Psychodynamics for Coaches is a three-module programme for coaches who want to look beneath what is immediately obvious in coaching conversations.
Drawing on the work of Freud, Jung, Klein, Winnicott, Bion, Lacan, Erikson and other leading psychodynamic thinkers, the programme explores unconscious processes, defence mechanisms, transference, countertransference and repetitive patterns, always through the lens of coaching rather than therapy.
Participants will discover how psychodynamic theory can enrich their coaching practice, helping them recognise patterns, deepen awareness and think more broadly about what clients bring. Combining accessible theory with practical application and reflective discussion, the programme remains firmly within the ethical boundaries of professional coaching.
No prior knowledge of psychodynamic theory is required.
Suitable for qualified coaches, coaches in training and experienced practitioners wishing to deepen their practice.
The programme is grounded in established psychodynamic theory while remaining firmly within the ethical boundaries of professional coaching. It is designed to enrich coaching practice, not to train participants as therapists.
Sessions include teaching, discussion, reflection and practical application to coaching practice.
