Bo Schack

Bo commands over three decades of experience in several agencies in the United Nations, managing and leading international humanitarian and development operations in fragile and complex environments. He has led programmes and staff in high-pressure, conflict-stricken environments. Since 2019, he has transitioned into an emerging role as a Business and Executive Coach, Mentor, and leadership facilitator, focusing on supporting individuals and groups in complex and uncertain environments.

Elham is a seasoned humanitarian worker with over two decades of experience in diverse global contexts. Throughout my career, I have led teams in challenging environments, honing exceptional managerial skills. Holding an Advanced Diploma in Personal, Leadership, and Executive Coaching from Kingstown College, Ireland, I am dedicated to empowering individuals, particularly humanitarians, to elevate their careers.

What is humanitarian coaching? What does it take to coach humanitarian aid workers? This is a dialogue table with three coaches with humanitarian backgrounds. The topics below will be on the table!
– What types of coaching needs do field-based humanitarian workers usually have?
– What are the (potential) benefits of coaching for them?
– What would be the specific benefits of being coached by a coach with humanitarian background?
– What about the benefits of coaches with no such background?
– What potential challenges do coaches with humanitarian backgrounds need to consider when coaching a humanitarian aid worker?
