The Flow of Emotions as a Resource in Coaching
Almost all coach training focuses on language as its primary tool. While listening to our coachees’ stories, we may overlook the important fact that what they are sharing is rooted in one or more emotions. Given that, it is beneficial to honor the story yet focus on the emotions that generate it. That is what Emotions-Centered Coaching does.
Key areas of focus in this session will include:
– Considering emotional myths and misapprehensions that are barriers to leveraging emotions as a coaching tool.
– Revising our understanding of emotions as a developmental competency that is logical, learnable, practical, and relevant.
– Clarifying the distinction between integrating emotions into coaching and therapy.
– Demonstration of Emotions-Centered Coaching as a unique coaching methodology.
– Share validated research derived from The Emotional Regulation Dashboard Assessment.
