The Trust Trinity
Trust is a cornerstone for coaching. Trust is the confidence that each party in a relationship will act in ways that benefit or at least not harm the other. It involves reliability, integrity, and the belief that promises will be kept (Morgan & Hunt 1994). It is common to hear the phrase ‘Trust Yourself’, and one starts to wonder how it fits with the definition stated earlier. Moreover, how do I trust myself? Plus, what happens when I do that? What additional layers of trust exist in the coaching conversation?
Join me during International Coaching Week (ICW) 2026 to explore Trust in the Coaching Conversation, and go through steps to indicate the level of trust experienced. This is a session that coaches and non-coaches can relate to and put to good (practical) use.
